FREE APPS YOU NEED FOR YOUR AUSSIE ROAD TRIP

Driving around Australia is a dream, but getting lost or paying $50 for a campsite every night is not. If you are living in a van, these 5 apps are your survival kit.

The Essentials :
  • WikiCamps : The king of apps. It costs a few dollars but pays for itself in one night. It shows every free camp, hot shower, and water point in the country.

  • PetrolSpy : Fuel prices change every 10km. Use this to find the cheapest diesel or unleaded near you and save up to $20 per tank.

  • Aircamp : Great for finding last-minute campsites with real photos and recent reviews from other nomads.

  • Maps.me : Download the maps of the Outback! You will lose signal, and this GPS works 100% offline.

  • Beachsafe : To check if the beach you just found is safe for a swim (sharks, stingers, or just big waves).

Nomad Tip : Always read the last 3 comments on WikiCamps before driving 2 hours to a spot. If someone says 'Rangers are fining people', don't go!
